Excellent fishing here, get ready for wrasse. A really nice RNLI shop staffed by little old ladies. The lifeboats launch from a building adjoining the shop by a large window which is interesting. There is also a live webcam of the pier online. Several people have been swept away in high seas so be careful as you can easily topple over the side.

Great place for fishing, even if it's raining - the pier's walls protect you from the rain somewhat.. but beautiful views, and you're bound to catch a bite - even if it's just some crab. The public toilets weren't open during the current pandemic, although the restaurant towards the bottom of the pier was allowing visitors to use the restroom if needed without having to be a customer, aswell as abiding by social distancing and one-way systems. A few of the shops such as the visitors shop that sells things such as buckets, spades etc weren't open during the time also - although this can easily be obtained on the other side of the beach area within the outdoor markets. The pier doesn't have much in terms of barriers or walls however, therefore it's more recommend for older individuals such as teens/adults or elders. Unfortunately, I didn't see any bait stores or fishing gear to be rented/sold near the pier though, so it's best to bring your own with you on the trip. Although overall, it makes for a nice relaxing spot for some sea fishing, no matter the weather with a cozy restaurant and shopping area near the pier also if you want to escape the weather for a short while.
