This is a fine example of the evolution in war ship design away from the all wood Hull to the armour plated sides of this vessel. Powered by both sail and steam, and with it's speed and large guns, it's little wonder it gave us battle supremecy at that time. But it remained a deterrent to foreign navies, as never a shot was fired in battle. A pity there isn't more information on-board, could have done with an audio guide like they have on HMS Victory.

HMS warrior is a beautiful iron clad ship! They've spent some money on enriching the museum lately with artifacts. Does need more information boards and reading points though! Unfortunately this costs it a star. The actors and staff were great and informative and played there roles well. But for such an amazing ship with great history, more information should be on display.

This was fantastic! If you see the HMS Victory and then see this, it's unbelievable that so much changed in the span of 50 years! One thing; bring a flashlight. I could not see the boilers. I had to take a picture of them so I could appreciate them when I got home.

Beautiful Victorian vessel, a true reminder of Britain's maritime past.

Amazing example of a Victorian ironclad. You get a real feel of how it must have been to be on board in the nineteenth century. Wonderfully preserved for the nation.

Very impressive. Bristling with fire power. A fabulous display of naval might. If you like warships then this is a real treat. All the decks radiate with weapons. The most powerful ship that never fired a shot in anger. Pristine quality. Restoration work is ongoing.

What a lovely old ship. Built in 1860 it was the Navy's 1st iron clad steam ship. The boiler room had at least 20 furnaces. Unimaginable how hot it would be to work there. Apart from being made from metal the layout of the ship seems to mirror the old wooden ones. Spent a good hour here. Most enjoyable.
