We love going for walks here. This time we were geocaching so it was to explore all the different areas looking for the treasure. Definitely worth a visit during the open months but still fun when the buildings are closed too

Fantastic day out with kids and Free! The buildings and machinery still there are interesting. Never heard of a beam engine! Some of the Information signs have been vandalised unfortunately however there is a phone number to call to listen to the information of each site. Definitely worth a visit!!!
Great for dog walking,pity all dog owners don't clean up after their dogs.Things have improved over the last few months though.
Simple but well presented former brick works with coal mine. More enjoyable because of the relaxed style. I particularly liked the audio guide by phone. Dial the number on the south to hear a speech.
What a great family experience, for those on any budget. The complex is fun to explore at your own pace, but at 2:80 per adult, the guided tour is excellent; giving background to the 800 years of history and access to some of the buildings and exhibits.
