The yellow Public use Defibrillator in Bovingdon on the High Street within the recessed entrance to Bovingdon's Memorial Hall. The cabinet itself is well placed and protected from the worst of the weather. Its of a type which has all the information you require on its front face. It is connected to the mains electricity because I checked it in the dark and its little clear window was illuminated, which means the battery is charging. Both the Cabinet number (CHT-14-1239) and the rarely annotated Post Code (HP3 0HJ) are present which are required by the 999 telephone operator, so they can provide you with the code number, so to open the cabinet door to access the equipment. The separate attention grabber sign is currently mounted to the Hall's front wall next to and slightly above the cabinet. However, its mainly green in colour with a thin yellow border. It should be mainly yellow so to be visible over distance. Currently it's very camouflaged being mainly green by the plants dangling from a hanging basket. Who thought that was a good idea ? Basically, it's not the hanging basket which is in the wrong place, its the sign. It needs to be mounted higher on the building or better still, as the Hall is set right back from the other High Street buildings, to mount it on the lamp post above the bus stop sign. It would then be visible from up and down the High Street for some distance. There is no information notice to provide ownership of the device. Its commonly the local Parish Council and they are based in the Hall. Many people though won't know this, so a notice should be present with a contact number, so to report problems or damage. For best practice, they need to see how the device on Kings Langley Railway Station is done. Please LIKE if you have found this review helpful thank you
