First off I want to congratulate this place and say well done for getting a vegan cafe up and running, I wish there were more places like this. However, the breakfast we had as a group was disappointing. I want PULSE to survive and succeed so with the complaints are suggestions that I hope future customers will hold them to account. The coffee tasted like instant coffee, it's easy enough to source ethical beans and use cafetieres rather than expensive coffee machines and anyone discerning enough to go to a vegan cafe will pay for good coffee. In fact a good soya latte would be welcome The tofu scramble should taste light and not of flour. The saute potatoes should be caramelized a little to give them flavour. Something like hash browns would be a perfect addition. Shame the sauce came in little sachet packets, we'd prefer something more sustainable. Friends have said the evening meals were better than the breakfast, but still only average. Perhaps concentrate on putting quality on the table rather than quantity. The staff are very welcoming and keen, let's hope the kitchen can up their game to match.

Very very nice Bolognese :D happy vegan xxx
Excellent food and good customer service. Will definitely be visiting again.
If I could give negative five stars I would. My partners family booked this restaurant weeks in advance for his birthday, especially because we're both vegan. We were all really excited because it is the only place on the Isle of Wight that is entirely vegan. On the day 28/02/19, we travelled all the way from Bembridge to Ventnor and when we got there the place was shut and the lights were turned off, what a disgrace. The owner ruined my partners birthday and she seemed to not even care. The owner claims to have the booking for 01/3/19 which is strange considering my partners mother phoned her two days prior to make sure the booking was made. My advice: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I was willing to give this restaurant the benefit of doubt as I had read on a previous review that the same scenario had happened to a woman and her husband on his 30th birthday. Alongside all of the other negative reviews. I am so disgusted with the lack of empathy from the owner about the whole ordeal. Please don't get your hopes up if you're planning to visit this place. I will never recommend the restaurant to anyone, the customer service is appalling and nobody ever picks up the phone. If you are looking for places to eat on the Island that have vegan options, I would suggest Pizza express in Newport. We had to go there instead and they are brilliant. The restaurant even has a vegan menu so it's easy to find many options. Pizza express even went as far as to put a candle on my partners desert for his birthday when we didn't even ask. The even have gluten free options if you're looking for that too. Pulse vegan restaurant is embarassing to the vegan community on the Isle of Wight and the whole Isle of Wight.
Service was very good. Food excellent. Good variety
