I know this place has been in the news lately and has bad reviews but my experience of the beacon has been brilliant. All staff have been very helpful and polite. I always get called back if they can’t answer my query at the time. I feel very well supported by the staff at the beacon and have not had one problem so far. People are always quick to write bad reviews, but rarely bother with good ones.

I have to agree with the other comments, been calling for weeks but just fobbed off by reception that they will send the member of staff another e-mail and now completely fobbed off that its not anyone's responsibility there when I know someone there has been assigned to him.. The chap who has retired was great and always took calls, since then, I have tried numerous times while my friend is under section and needs our help. I'm not suffering from mental health, but this is making me feel bad that after repeated calls, even I can't get to speak to anyone. .

I am so impressed with the detailed care provided for my relative recently. The consultant and CPN who are working with him are wonderful. Nothing but praise!

This isn't a place you want to be at long, if at all, but, unfortunately in Thanet this is the place the NHS suggest for people with mental health conditions, that can't be dealt with by a GP surgery which is most of them. The staff if they can be bothered to see you don't and won't care about you and they will suggest all sorts of silly things. Take it from someone who knows get the treatment you are likely to require and run as fast as you can in the opposite direction and don't go back. The longer you are in contact with this service the worse it will get for you.
