Rania Restaurant Reviews | Rating 4.1 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Rania Restaurant is located in Cranleigh, United Kingdom on 184 High St, The Common. Rania Restaurant is rated 4.1 out of 5 in the category indian restaurant in United Kingdom. A chic Indian restaurant, Ranïa is conveniently situated on the main thoroughfare of Surrey’s pretty Cranleigh village. Boasting ‘opulent Indian dining’, the owners of Ranïa have taken great care to produce an atmosphere and look worthy of their claim. With polished wood flooring, modern art on the walls and judicious use of colour in the occasional touch of jewel toned Asian silk, Ranïa has a glossy appearance matched by charming service. In addition to a pared down collection of traditional Indian restaurant dishes – both curries and tandoori grills, Ranïa’s menu offers an inspiring range of contemporary dishes informed by Indian flavours and lesser known specialties, some changing seasonally. In particular, the vegetarian options are of extremely high quality.

We decided to try Rania on a whim one Monday night. We had been watching the renovations with interest during lockdown and once we were able to decided we wanted to give the new menu a try. The cocktails we had for our aperitif were A perfect way to wet the appetite. The portion size was balanced and the spicing was on point. We are now thoroughly poking forward to a return visit!

Lovely meal at Brasserie Rania, the kashmir king prawns and the Alu tikki were a delight, the railway chicken and sheep kebab were outstanding. Also loving the new Alfresco dining area, specially in this gorgeous weather

We went to the Rania on Monday 24th August as part of the Eat Out to Help Out initiative. We had never been there before and had read a few mixed reviews so was not sure what to expect, however, what we found was an absolute gem. They've clearly put some thought into how to re-open safely with outdoor seating as well as protective barriers for the inside tables and they have a reduced menu, which was actually very good. The restaurant was busy but had a good, friendly atmosphere. The family and I had small dish starters as well as mains and they were all very well presented and extremely tasty. Service was excellent, the staff were very attentive and helpful, the food came out quickly and they seemed well organised. I appreciate that maybe during very busy periods, especially during these strange times that we find ourselves in, the service may suffer but I think that's probably true for any eating establishment and I would advocate some patience but for us personally, honestly we could not fault the Rania and will definitely go back again soon!

I use this restaurant most of the time as the food is very good. I have to say that on the odd occasion it let's me down on taste but this is only when they are very busy but apart from that top rate.
