Very bijou little theatre which puts on good quality productions. Complimentary tea and coffee at the interval, very reasonably priced drinks. You can park on the road outside the building on either side after 6pm. No raked or allocated seating though.

We were impressed from the moment we arrived by being greeted by friendly staff at this quaint theatre. We watched The Lady in the Van and have to say I enjoyed it immensely. I have not seen the film so watched with an untainted mind so other than the clue of Lady in the Van I had no idea of the humour this play offered. The main cast - well Miss Shepherd was dressed as you would expect someone to be living out a van. Im just glad the Director didn’t go one further and cover the props with a rancid odour that you would expect from a Lady living in a van ;-). Alan Bennett - Im still laughing now as I recall a few scenes from the play, in particular where he slowly raises above her whilst pointing a finger and using expletives due to being at the end of his tether....fantastic acting. Plenty of other scenes that are worthy of a mention however this was my favourite by far. Alan Bennett 2 - What a brilliant voice this actor has, eloquently spoken with a dry sense of humour whom had the audience laughing loudly at certain points. Mam, Rufus, Pauline, Social Worker and Underwood - all brilliant played supporting the main actors. Fantastic location with an outstanding cast - definitely visit this venue again.
