I am 100% happy with the service that Abbey Memorials provided me with. Mark was excellent throughout the process, and always kept in touch with me to let me know what was happening. I asked if the kerb side memorial could be laid for my late father’s birthday and this request was granted. This made my mother very happy as she had no idea when I took her to the cemetery that her husband’s grave was now completed, it made her very happy on the day and she shed tears of happiness. I will definitely use Abbey Memorials again, and would like to thank them for everything they have done, by leaving this review. THANKS!

I initially contacted Abbey Memorials in the middle of July 2019 asking for a quote, I had several email exchanges with Mark (the owner) where he asked me for more information on the wording, sizing etc. I explained at the time that the memorial was for my late father and needed to be shipped overseas in November so he had an idea of my timeframe. When I didn’t receive a quote for a few weeks I chased him twice, he then replied on 15 August with more questions and said he would send a quote. After 1 month, I chased him again TWICE, he responded to say he was away and would reply fully tomorrow (20 Sept) but never did. I chased again by email and also called the office to be told “he was away, just got back in the office today. He will contact you”. He never did, today is 5 November and I never received a response to my last email or the quote he promised. Thankfully, my sister found another stonemason who has been wonderful and has provided us with the perfect memorial for our beloved father. I wouldn't recommend Abbey Memorials, I can’t comment on his stone masonry work but his customer service is appalling. When someone is requesting a memorial for a loved one they should be treated with sensitivity and courtesy, both were lacking.

I am absolutely delighted with the beautiful memorial headstone for my wife. The quality of the stone and engraving are second to none. The result is an outstanding memorial I can be very proud of. The installation also went very smoothly with a perfectly erect correctly placed headstone unlike some others! Abbey Memorials of Rayleigh in Essex have been very helpful at every stage and the result is as good as any other memorial in the cemetery regardless of price. Don't be ripped off by the standard prices paid through your undertaker - they get a markup and use often much more expensive companies with no benefit to you. Go direct to Abbey Memorials of Rayleigh in Essex. You will be delighted with the result.

This company may have high ratings, but if there is a problem, good luck with their customer sales service. We had problems from the start with their stonemasons putting 2 marble figure in the wrong place, leaving holes in the kerb edgings. Recently after contacting them regarding replacement of the 2 marble figures, which were stolen off my mothers gravestone due to the fact they were not anchored down as stated (fitted properly) by their stonemasons i was met with an unsympathetic attitude from mark whos comments were very unprofessional. I sent photos of proof that there was no cement present and his reply was \If someone wanted to steal the figures it would not matter how they were anchored down they would still have taken them\ not something you want to hear considering the fact that their bad workmanship made it easier for someone to take them. He also stated that it was irrelevant that we had spent 4,000 pounds with them and they would not accept liability. We did replace them ourselves at a cost of 80 less than they had charged us 4 years ago. Also fitted by a trusted stonemasons. Obviously we were absolutely devastated at this awful time but he had no compassion whatsoever. The arrogance of this man is not what is needed when dealing with sensitive issues. The 1 star rating is for the headstone. The workmanship & customer service is not worth anything.
