Great concept with relative ease of service execution. IE online booking & allocation of hire bike. The unfolding & folding process can be a trying experience but will undoubtedly get easier as you hire more Bromptons. It's an excellent partnership with the train operators to help passengers travel the last mile of your journey. Make sure you have your phone handy.
Great idea especially for anyone wanting to try before buying. I was curious so signed up to the scheme. Unfortunately there were a number of problems I encountered along the way. First was when I signed up I sent a payment (initial deposit) without including the reqd reference (my fault). So I made a second payment thinking I could sort it out after the weekend. A month later after coming up against full voicemail inboxes, and several unanswered emails they simply don't want to or are unable to deal with this problem. I was also charged twice for the annual sign up fee and after raising it with them I was refunded this, but I had to chase it. I did hire a bike which I collected from the London, Kings X dock but not without issue. When I entered the code to collect the bike the door opened but the slot was empty! Contacted the emergency support who gave me another code for another slot but the door failed to open! Then the support agent said she would contact Evans who would refill the dock and she would call me back in a couple of minutes. Well I never did get the call back but 15 mins later a couple of guys turned up with 4 Bromptons. Thankfully from here on in it was plain sailing and the bike functioned fine, hence the 2 stars. I have docked 3 stars as the backup service has been terrible even contacting Brompton themselves you end up being directed to a mail box (some which are full). So will I be buying a Brompton? Cetainly not with the level of support I've received to date.
