There has been a bridge at Sonning for centuries, but the present iteration of the Bridge dates to 1775. There is mention of the existence of a timber bridge at the Sonning location circa 1530s with the possibility that a bridge may have existed there in Saxon times, as early as circa 1125. NB: the centre of this beautiful bridge marks the borders of Berkshire & Oxfordshire.

Lovely place to go for a walk, can get busy but a very pleasant and friendly place to go also has some lively pubs and restaurants close by
How amazing that this old Victorian structure of arches is still surviving. River Thames flows gracefully underneath. The beautiful village of Sonning Eye surrounds this bridge with great scenery and walks.
The place it is amaizing but lot of rubbish across the walk
