Lifeboat station with a small shop staffed by volunteers. Some nice stationery, toys and jigsaw puzzles with a nautical theme, as well as confectionery. The two volunteers were very friendly. Nearby there is a wooden jetty across salt marsh and mudflats. A pleasant walk with great views of Lytham and the estuary.
Perfect spot to just chill out or go for a nice walk along the prom. I love photography so go there regular to take photos of the windmill in the different seasons or head onto the beach or the old ramp that is just beautiful looking across to southport or looking left into the hills with both darwen tower and winter hill madt in view. To the right there are llenty of boats either bobbing around in the water or beached depending on if the tide is in.
