Visited back in October. Pre-booked and timed tickets are required. Rosslyn Chapel is incredible Gothic chapel with elaborate masonry, carvings and decoration that make it comparable to some of the most magnificent Gothic cathedrals in Europe. Unfortunately photos and videos are not permitted in the church, so if it wasn't for the guided tour, I'd feel short-changed.

Awesome Rosslyn Chapel, formerly known as the Collegiate Chapel of St Matthew, is a 15th-century chapel located in the village of Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland. Rosslyn Chapel was founded on a small hill above Roslin Glen as a Catholic collegiate church (with between four and six ordained canons and two boy choristers) in the mid-15th century. The chapel was founded by William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness of the Scoto-Norman Sinclair family. Rosslyn Chapel is the third Sinclair place of worship at Roslin, the first being in Roslin Castle and the second (whose crumbling buttresses can still be seen today) in what is now Roslin Cemetery.

Really enjoyed our visit to Rosslyn Chapel there is so much information dotted throughout the Chapel....it has amazing history well worth a visit. The staff were great, our visit was during covid 19 and we felt safe with the precautions that were in place even the toilets were cleaned after every use. The little cafe was lovely with the two young guys serving ....they were very polite and professional. We would definitely recommend a visit

The skill of the stonemasons is fantastic especially the apprentice pillar inside. Chapel wasn't as large as I imagined and we were in and out under an hour. Its one place I wanted to tick off having visited and wasn't disappointed.

Second visit, magnificent place, nice to meet William the cat. Public transport from Edinburgh was very easy to use. A nice location if you need to get away form the busy city center for an afternoon.
