Brilliant place to brings the kids (5&9). Massive play area for the kids and the aqua area for kids to get wet. Inside the kids loved all the activities to do. My only downside to it was a few things did not work in there but it was still a great day out for the kids. They have a restaurant area but we brought picnic stuff which we ate while walking around. Definitely worth coming here

Amazing day out. 3 boys had plenty of stuff to play with and they're a decent spread of ages. 10, 6 and 19 months. Parts of it are a little tired but as an experience it's amazing to imagine how incredible the place would have been at full tilt. It's set in a massive old steel mill and there is a focus on that industry but it's so much more than that in terms of what's there to learn. In addition there is an amazing park and even splash area outside we were lucky enough with the weather to be able to enjoy.

We'd never been before and it wasn't what we expected, but we had a great day. The museum is split into the 4 elements and there's different activities in each element. Theres also a big play area and small water park outside, with a little hut that sells drinks and snacks. Our kids loved it.

Absolutely brilliant place and actually really interesting! I didn't think it would be for me because it's about the old steel works but it really was! Just a shame quite a lot of the bits and pieces to press and play with weren't working. You definitely need a whole day here.

Very interactive, good for kids and big play area outside. Disappointed that several of the exhibits weren't working especially as the entry fee is high. All three lifts were out of use. Not much info, was disappointed I didn't learn much and the little info that is available is difficult to read as the museum is so dark.

This is an old steel works which is now a very interactive museum and science centre. The main building is just huge. I mean it's enormous. Lots of kid friendly science. It takes hours to go round. Some of the stuff is very exciting. Lots of stuff for kids to do. There is also the best adventure playground in the area. It could do with better signs and some of the mechanical stuff is awaiting repair. There is a big car park. A decent cafe and lots of toilets. Look at the website for the admission prices. But you can get in free for the next 12 months.

A good couple of hours, though maybe not what my two 15 year old sons would have chosen. They found enough to amuse them, and enjoyed some time on the park afterwards without being too self concious. However most people there were with children under 10. Staff are trying hard to keep things safe with covid, but most things are hands on so possibly worth taking your own gel along.
