After a very very long time away from competitive sport I decided to try a new sport in Triathlon. I was formerly a competitive swimmer, runner and instructor for the Armed Forces so I took great diligence in finding a coach that could help me get back on track. I had spoken to several coaches already but I wasn't convinced by their approach. I met Nick Dunn at a local Triathlon that we were both competing in. He was very friendly, very professional and offered advice without caveat. He was there with his family and had never met or spoken to me before. I am quite a stubborn person, highly motivated and possibly a "square peg round hole" when it comes to how traditional coaching formats work these days. I know what I want but lacked the knowledge and experience on the cycling side. Nick agreed to help me, during the sessions with Nick he clearly understood my needs and demands and got straight to it, the sessions comprised of what I needed to do and how to do it. His methods are tried and tested and his on going support is very much appreciated. # I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND NICK DUNN AND HIS TEAM #

I booked myself on a half Ironman on a dare and realised that I needed help. I booked a beginner camp with tri camp and I am so glad I did. I credit them in helping me finish my first triathlon. It was an intense week with bike outings every day, climbing some of the top mountains in Mallorca accompanied by Nick and his team, with at least a run or a swim session on top. Nick initiated me to my first open water swim and gave me the “washing machine” experience of the triathlon swim start (everybody pushing each other vying for position). The food was decent and nutritious. Loved the camp and have been hooked on triathlons ever since.

I am stating true facts in this review to help others select the right triathlon camp to book with having lost nearly 1,000 with Challenge Tri Camp. I was due to go on my first triathlon training camp with Challenge Tri Camp in early 2019 (Paid in full) and lost my father suddenly just before Christmas 2018. It threw out my training and hit me really hard. My wife and daughter were incredible in supporting me and I contacted Nick Dunn and his team to explain the situation to see if I could cancel or defer to 2020. Unfortunately travel insurance didn’t count in this situation because I hadn’t yet left the U.K. The airline, bike hire and car rental company were all amazing and given the specific reason for the trip, they all cancelled with a full refund even going outside of their normal terms. Sadly even though Challenge Tri Camp are in the human performance business they were not quite as sympathetic or understanding. After lots of push back and emails whilst I was also dealing with the loss, Ive had nothing back at all. I’d paid nearly 1,000 in full and was offered 150 towards a 2020 camp or a 1 day training session in the U.K. I realise there are accommodation costs to cover, that may or may not have been used by someone else but the total lack of understanding, no sympathy or understanding in a human performance business, in my opinion speaks volumes. I successfully competed in a number of triathlons later in 2019 and I’ve booked elsewhere for a 2020 camp to work with a team that focus on everything about a person and hope to have a positive experience.
