What a delicious find in Ryde. Quaint with authentic details to the style of the shop. Lovely aromas of coffee and chocolate. The best carrot cake I have had for a while. A taste sensation with mint hot chocolate. Friend!y welcoming cafe on the sea front. Lots of food goodies to eat in or and take away. Don't miss it!

Lovely place and amazing chocolate (but for me the huge helping of carrot cake was the best). The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. I wish more shops would capitalise on their great architecture and history like this place, it makes a cup of coffee and a slice more of an enjoyable experience.
Went to Ryde and popped into the Chocolate Apothecary....It was full of very delicious and tempting chocolates and treats....a mountain of beautiful nougat was on the till...hard to find anywhere else on the island...We were greeted very warmly, by a very attentive member of their team....We ordered hot chocolate, and had to have cookies to go with them....WOW!!! I will say it was the best hot chocolate that I have ever tasted....and the cookie, was amazing too....I will be back again and again...Kevin from Newport
This is a very olde world shop opposite the sea front. If you have a love of all things chocolate then this IS a shop not to be missed. There is every connotation of hot choc drinks and a myriad of home made exquisite tasting chocolates that can be chosen to be placed in gift boxes and bags. Milk free dark chocolates are also a speciality. I have to say it was the best hot choc drink I have ever tasted. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
We last visited 10 years ago and this time it seemed bigger which was odd. The hot chocolate was yummy along with the selection of chocolates. Although the coffee and walnut was ok I prefer the cream to be made from buttercream (my preference only!). Our kids enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies however they didn't really appreciate the ambiance. Distancing measures were in place but as with everywhere it depends on the customers to adhere to the rules.
