I would recommend Ruth Overington to those local to Salisbury area who are looking for counselling support. I found her to be very professional, warm and supportive and her therapy room being local and easily accessibly was an added bonus.

Although Ruth initially comes across as warm and caring it soon becomes clear that she does not work with a person centred approach. Ruth is incredibly ridged in her views and doesn't seem to recognise that different people may require a slight change of pace or a different approach to other clients. I feel that Ruth would be more suited for less intensive work. Perhaps a short term therapy rather than anything long term. Where the issues the client is having isn't trauma based. In my own situation with Ruth she became very unprofessional and has actually caused me more problems. Which I now have to work through before I can address the trauma which I initially sought therapy for in the first place.
