Took my car into Sandwells garage with a persistent issue I've been having , They booked me in the same day to try and diagnose the fault. Frank kept in contact throughout the job and i was notified of any changes no matter how small. They got to the root of the issue and i was very satisfied with the outcome . Highly professional . A good friendly garage and service but a rip off with pricing. We needed an MOT and chose Sandwells as we had a previous job done there, recommended by an AA Engineer. The vehicle failed the MOT because of the antiroll bar, end ball joint, drive shaft joint, and tracking. The total cost including VAT and the MOT was just over 400 which at the time seemed excessive, the price was reduced from 416. However, because the car was at the garage and it could be done that day, we didn't really have much choice (finding another garage, MOT and we needed the car for school runs). While waiting for the repairs to be done, I sent out three quotes to other garages to get a comparison. Unfortunately, I received the first quote two hours after picking the car up and the other two a couple of days later. The first (local garage 2 minutes away) quoted 23840 MOT. The second local was 189 35 MOT. The last quote was from another garage in Plymouth for 210 46 MOT. All quotes were for the same MOT failures and included VAT. As you can see from the quotes it's a lot less than Sandwells. My advice is to get a few quotes before doing business with this garage.
