We are a nano-materials technology company, combining graphene, the world’s strongest substance and best conductor with aerogel, the world’s lightest substance, and a top insulator and shock absorber. We aim to create products that are amongst the strongest, lightest and most resilient. We have applied our core graphene/aerogel composite technology to three main product areas - armour, aerospace and renewable energy. Armour is our first commercial product area, where we have developed the GC Shield™ - a flexible, lightweight shield that uses our composite technology to disperse impact forces more effectively than other types of armour. We are incorporating this technology into lightweight shields, body and vehicle armour as well as into active shooter protection infrastructure technology. Our armour products have been tested to stop NATO sniper rifle and AR-15 assault rifle bullets, as well as any handgun, shotgun and knife. Our armour products range from a small panel that can fit into a schoolbag with an ability to interlink with other shields to create a Shield Wall, to a quick-release GC Shield Curtain, which provides protection in large spaces like school entrances and cafeterias. GC has a close technology development partnership with the Centre for Process Innovation (“CPI”), and in particular its Graphene Application Centre.
