I wanted to let people know that my family and I had a brilliant day out at the Falconry Centre this month. The staff who lead the talks were knowledgeable and they spoke of fun tales about the birds which made it interesting. The hands on approach with two of the owls and the interaction with the Cara Cara made for a special day out. The cafe was more than adequate but we made use of the picnic benches. I would recommend planning a full morning or afternoon here so you can watch at least two of the talks/flying demonstrations which are usually at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm to fully appreciate this interesting and fun attraction. A hit with the kids I'm sure.

I took a friend for a birthday treat & I had booked a half hour session for her with an Owl, the whole experience was fantastic. All the people there were really knowledgeable & very friendly, we had a wonderful session, & I was able to take many photos of my friend having birds land on her gloved hand. We are both getting on a bit, but the young people handling the birds didn't talk down to us which does happen in some places. We were very lucky with the weather, but if it had been to windy to fly the birds for the display it would have been OK, we would have understood that. In bad weather the birds can still be seen even if they can't fly them for the displays, the low entrance fee is well worth it & most places charge a lot more to enter. If we couldn't have seen the displays I certainly wouldn't have asked for a refund, the birds still need to be fed & staff paid. We loved every minute of our visit & will definitely be going back.

Unfortunately the bird sanctuary is closed and will apparently remain closed until the possibility of another buyer comes along. So disappointing yesterday to travel to The Falconry centre, after checking the website which indicates it is open. Hope it saves others a disappointing journey.
