A great place for the whole family, train rides for children of all ages. No age limit on this railway, 9 months to 99 years, all welcome. Great cafe, wonderful picnic area, amazing train rides and very friendly, helpful staff. A marvelous day out.

Great place for young families. Free entry including parking. Just need to pay for train tickets which are 1.50 at time of writing per person per ride. Toilets, refreshments are available. Free for parties. A few picnic tables but you may want to consider bringing folding chairs if grass is wet.

Great place to take the kids and cheap compared to most other places.

Long established model engineering society and founder members of the Northern Association of Model Engineers. Model engineers and interested visitors are always made very welcome. We are dedicated to promoting our hobby by building and operating steam and other types of powered models; by invention and experimentation; by tool making; by encouraging young people to become engineers; by maintaining links with model engineers in the UK and abroad; by furthering wider interest in our hobby with the local community who visit the Abbeydale Miniature Railway; and by supporting local charities - particularly the Sheffield Children's Hospital. We sell light refreshments, ice cream and souvenirs when the railway is open to the public, and our premises and toilets are wheelchair accessible. We have a special carriage funded by the Lottery Awards For All scheme which enables most wheelchair users to enjoy a ride on the railway. Please ask if you need this service. We are completely non-profit making and all our staff are volunteers, so all receipts are reinvested in developing, maintaining, insuring and running the railway and maintaining our clubhouse and picnic area facilities.

A fantastic place for kids and big kids alike. Friendly volunteers and great trains for everyone to ride on. Well worth a visit. However, do check out their website before visiting as it's only open on certain days.
