Great food and drinks. The service was superb! Lovely ambience and decor for the area. This is one of the rare restaurants that serve truly authentic Sri Lankan food so a must-try for foodies looking for authenticity in emerging cuisines. I would definitely come back for more. I'd recommend anyone to try crispy mutton rolls (or vegetable rolls) for starters, and the big man's kottu and roti!

Absolutely awful. Just recieved our meal and the chicken was cold and completely pink and raw in the middle. Would never order from here again.

Just returned home from dining at The Elephant and wanted to put a positive review asap. The food was delicious - authentic, good portions, and fresh. And the service was excellent - friendly, personable and it was clear the staff wanted to leave a good lasting impression - which they did! Really kind gesture of giving my husband a bottle of beer to take home as a birthday gift. Great music too! We will be coming back and telling our friends and family to visit The Elephant! Thank you

This local restaurant is a breath of fresh air. The food is the closest thing I can get to an excellent home cooked meal- only the gourmet version--which is high praise! Because of the healthy options and coconut flour based dishes it's take out I don't feel guilty about eating and is worth every penny. Yummy, nutritious and filling.

The food is good, a little bit salty. But I waited my food for 40 mins, and my food is arrived but until I finish my friend food still didn’t show up.

This is my number 1 takeaway currently in Sidcup and if not in a national lockdown we would be with the restaurant celebrating. The food is exquisite and despite reviews on delivery received the food in 35 minutes. Excellent quality- try the new chilli chips and order the lion beer as lovely compliment to the food. I cannot fault the restaurant with additional popadums and the quality of service of food (Ala beduma) is always mouthwatering and hot. Try The Elephant and you will not be disappointed.

As a very fussy eater I wasn't sure what to expect as I never usually used to branch out into different types of food. However I was introduced to dishes that I'd never heard of and I was very surprised that food was exquisite! I also have the pleasure of working with the manager of the elephant in another place of work and he is one hell of a guy, and where I struggle sometimes in our other job he's usually always there to perk me up again. And that tells me that the staff are treated with the same respect from him at all times. Everything is spotless in the store which given the current covid climate is a massive relief, other staff are professional and great with they're customers and the food is very nicely presented when it arrives. I will definitely be coming back, keep it up!

Very disappointed with take away on 2nd Jan. The starter (fried handello) was dry, overcooked and inedible, we could not decipher what fish it was and sadly it went in the bin. The bread (Parothi) was rubbery and tasteless and did not have "crispy edges" as described on the menu. The dhal ceylon - although tasty, was a very small portion and not as thick as we had expected, the Nasi Guran was probably not a wise choice and strangely had the topping separately boxed, but the pumpkin curry was good and saved the day. Very overpriced.
