Fantastic place for families who need to stay local to hospital with children requiring treatment. Very clean rooms with large communal kitchen areas. A great sense of community with other families who are all going through some challenges in their lives. Never really appreciated what the charity was until we were offered a room at the Ronald McDonald House next to Southampton Children's Hospital. We were only in for a few nights, but some families require the use for several months. If ever you're in a McDonald's restaurant, bare a thought for all the families going through some difficult times with their children, and drop your spare change in their charity boxes. Every penny counts.
Amazing place for family’s to stay whilst their children are in hospital. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the set up is perfect as a parent I couldn’t have asked for more from them, security at night are brilliant considering most are doorman like, a guard called Maj was really helpful and showed a lot of care despite not being the parent who’s child is in hospital, thank you so much!!!
This is a great place to stay when you have family in the Southampton Hospital and you don’t live locally. Staff are courteous. It’s certainly a charity worth supporting. Every facility you would need in a home has been thoughtfully arranged - kids play area, Kitchen, dining, individual fridge space, laundry, cookers, ovens, crockery. It’s kept clean and warm, bed is comfy, beddings are hotel style even. There are simple sensible house rules.
Fantastic place to be close to our son during a very stressful time, making it that bit easier.
