Vulcan Restoration Trust has moved to a different part of Southend Airport since the last time I visited, in my opinion they are now in a better spot. But of course the reason to visit this attraction is the incredible Delta wing, cold war deterrent bomber, Vulcan XL426. Stand in awe under the giant bomb bay doors where nuclear bombs were housed. Take the cockpit tour which was home to two pilots and three technicians. What's the word? AWESOME!

Very good plane. Would recommend it to anyone. Update: I came here again 2 weeks ago to the opening of the new venue for the Vulcan in the hanger and it was even better. Lots of enthusiastic volunteers that maintain the aircraft to such a high standard, I really to urge you to visit this!

A very well organised event also considering current restrictions. Very friendly staff and volunteers.

The team looking after this stunning Vulcan deserve a great deal of praise. On the open day you can do a cockpit tour and at least on the day I attended the was an optional extra to be in the cockpit when they power up the APU to drive the control surfaces and bomb bay doors. I actually got to demonstrate the control surfaces and feel a Vulcan's stuck and rudder first hand. Once in a lifetime opportunity that I never expected to even be on offer. I'm very grateful to the XL426 team.

At Southend Airport and is a must visit if you have an interest in the Avro Vulcan bomber. It is amazing to be able to get up close to this iconic aircraft. Even better they have open cockpit days and for a small extra charge you can get on board and see the Vulcan from the inside. Excellent!

First time I had seen her move under full power with four engines running up and down and all round the airport since 1966. Thank you to all the volunteers, specially Engineers for ensuring she is in fabulous condition and a special thanks to the Airport for providing and allowing her to go all round. The Trust hope to be able to run her again at a later date. I suggest that you go. Superb Site. David.
