Very polite engineer, came on time and not long after we rang to book. Unfortunately, we do need to warn others that it is an expensive fixed charge if they can't actually carry out the job. If you're new to this / a new homeowner, make sure your property definitely allows drain access (i.e. definitely has a manhole) before you book them in, otherwise you pay 100 for nothing being done (albeit with a nice engineer who did try!) It's just a shame that it has to be a fixed charge. EDIT: Response to owner's reply - Hi David, thank you for replying. I hope I did not offend? I only sought to warn new homeowners who may, like us, have no experience or knowledge of drain unblocking, to ensure they definitely have a manhole where it is a fixed charge of 90VAT. We would have really benefited from reading a review like this before to ensure there is a manhole. As I said, the engineer was nice, did try to clear it and did spend 15 minutes at the property, all in all, trying to find a manhole. Thank you for the offer of a discounted rate, however I think for ease, we will go with a company who can remove the toilet and unblock the drain all in one. As an additional positive for Happy Drains, the payment service is very easy to use.

Absolutely disaster service from David and his team. Stay away to save money and respect. They send unprofessional and unskilled engineers. I had blocked drainage issue and it was surely internal block but to kill time and money their engineers made up story and involved United Utilities. Even after multiple visits from United Utilities they were making excuses. At the end after 15 days of follow-up and spending double the money I got it resolved through them. I couldn't risk changing half way through. Always late by at least 4-5 hours to attend an appointment. Sometimes never turn up after waiting 8 hours (false promises). I have attached a sample conversation and kind of unprofessional approach they have. I have also attached how they left the place unhygienic and I had to chase them up to get them clear it. Its an absolute shame they never bothered to resolve and compensate for all the losses I incurred. This was for my property in Gresham Street, Liverpool and was booked via Plusheat. Surely this should help in recollecting. I have also contacted David directly via email.
A fantastic company. Our outside drain overflowed yesterday evening, meaning showers, toilets, sink etc all not draining away. Called Happy Drains, spoke to Will who told us someone would be with us at about 9am to 11am today. They turned up at 8.30 and the drain was unblocked and working perfectly by 9am!! The service, price and professionalism we received was faultless. Highly recommended Thank you
Noticed we had a blocked drain which was over-flowing in our garden. Called them at 9am and by 12.30pm it was fixed. Very efficient, the 2 guys were professional and extremely polite. The price charged was what they said on their website: 90 VAT so very reasonable (another company quoted me 235 VAT as it was \urgent\). DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS!
I've used Happy Drains' services twice now and and think they are brilliant. The manhole cover in my house was hidden under the floorboards. The engineer who visited the first time immediately knew where everything would be. Because the floor needed to be lifted, he went off to another job and came back again later. He didn't charge any extra for this (although he'd already done quite a bit before he left). He cleared everything very quickly and I was impressed with his knowledge of Victorian drains! I had the same engineer today, friendly and efficient as before. Everything sorted out in under an hour. Everyone I've spoke to at this company has been pleasant, their charges are very reasonable, they turn up quickly and they do a great job. Highly recommended.
