I popped in to see if they do sunglasses repairs on the off chance, and the guy at the desk was really friendly and helpful. He fixed it within a matter of minutes, and didn’t charge me a penny - how lovely! Definitely recommend!

A highly recommended family business. I was seen immediately on a busy Saturday morning by an optician who was was professional and meticulous. The changes to my prescription were explained to me and I felt no pressure to purchase. After sales was great too! I lost my paper copy of my prescription so they emailed me my details immediately on request. An extremely well-run and friendly opticians.

I have visited many places, but I have never ever come across one that provides such a bad customer experience. As a customer when you buy new glasses your bound to have some problems sometimes. I went to the store to speak about my problems to Tim and he blamed me, refused to help me and told me to get my glasses made elsewhere from now on. He said this right in front of another customer. I am appalled by this. Tim, the owner of the store, is very rude and disrespectful and as a customers you do not deserve to be treated like this. I would definitely not recommend anyone buy glasses from here and choose boots or vision express instead as an alternative. I am never coming back here ever again!!

Fantastic Service - can't fault the help these guys gave me with purchasing new cycle prescription glasses and some varifocal glasses. They even went to the trouble of sourcing some Prada frames I had seen in another location but they currently didn't stock. Fast, efficient and friendly service - definitely going back in the future.

I recently had the pleasure to order my glasses from The Spec Factory in St. Albans, and was delighted with the service I received. Initially I visited a local private optician in Hemel Hempstead who were not only very slow off the mark, but as it turns out also issued a prescription which was completely wrong. Thus the very expensive Vari-Focal Office Zeiss lenses I ordered from The Spec Factory had to be made two times. However, Tim and Andy both offered exceptional sympathetic support including a second free eye test which was perfect. Overall I found the service I received from The Spec Factory exceptional, with superb after sales and a very expedient turnaround. Highly recommend!!
