Visited back in September. Once Scotland's greatest church building. Now it's a ruin, but what a postcard picture perfect ruin. The east and west towers are two of the greatest structures still standing and the isolated remains served to magnify the brilliance of the Gothic architecture. The ground of cathedral are free to enter, you only have to pay if you want to visit the museum. The ticket would normally get you into St Rule's Tower as well, but that's not possible right now due to social distancing rules. The museum is not extensive, but does exhibit some of the best preserved elements from the ruin, history of the building and local history. Some of the best exhibits in the museum are the coffins which for me was the bizarre fascination with displaying death.

Brilliant old ruin, great views, great for pics and interesting
The cathedral ruins are free, but is worth paying admission for the small museum that shows what the huge cathedral looked like. Excellent examples of the symbols and meanings of the ancient gravestones and how people honored the dead more than 600 years ago. If you are brave enough, climb to the top of St. Rules tower for the most fantastic view of St. Andrew's.
I liked checking out these ruins, very nice to see. The locations was beautiful! We had a lot of fun walking about and checking out various tomb stones that were all around the location.
Great place to explore and just wonder round
Oh boy. I visited this place twice, almost 20 years apart, and not much has changed!! A classic spot if you visit St. Andrews.
Beautiful. A must see when in town. The town is so small and quaint that this is an easy one to do. The history is amazing. Like I said. Very easy to see.
I went here on a particularly bleak day so perhaps did not see it in it's full glory but the ruins were still very interesting to see. There were plenty of interesting signs to inform you about the site and markers about the place to show where various parts of the cathedral once stood. The visitor centre looked very modern and the tower would have given great views over St Andrews, but there wasn't enough time for me to personally visit.
