It was a glorious Sunday morning when I felt like praying to the nearest Orthodox Church, during my stay in Manchester. As I was about to approach the entrance, I was stopped by a member of the congregation, a man who was sitting nearby the main doors. He addressed himself as Andrew and start engaging in an uncomfortable conversation with me, of my where about's, what was the reason of my stay, If I knew anyone from the congregation and what was the reason of my visit. Whether he thought he came across as a friendly person I do not know, to me by assessing his demeanour, he came across as creepy, weird and judgemental. I proceeded in answering all his questions mostly in his native language ( Arabic), firstly to keep him calm as he was staring at me up and down and secondly to prevent his irritating sweat from on dropping from his forehead. As I felt there was no need to further engage in this pointless conversation and as I was about to walk away from this baffling and awkward situation, he requested one last thing. He requested blatantly to look inside my backpack even tough he had no warrant or any sort of business to do so. I consented for the main reason that If I was to resist i most certain would have encountered something more unpleasant. Either I would have been restraint or confiscated of my items or even a false alarm would have been raised for an unnecessary reason . Someone else would have chosen the later action but I dealt with the whole situation calmly and patiently. I guess in the end that's what it take to deal narrow minded people, brainwashed by MSM. It was not the first time I came across this situation, it happened before during a visit, again, to a different Coptic church. I don't think I will be returning there ever and I wouldn't suggest it, there are plenty of other places of worship where you can find inner peace and deep connection with God and better contacts.
