Called Wilsons about two weeks ago to buy a new van. Have used them before, but have to say the service by telephone was appalling. The man I spoke to was so dis-engaged, quite rude and not very interested in new business. I was sent an e-mail but to the wrong spelling of my name, and so had to call back again, whereby I was treated by the same man as though I had interrupted him. He was honestly the cliché of a used car salesman. Think he's been there too long. I was told the only way to discuss a vehicle was in person on the forecourt, and that I may benefit from speaking to his colleague jenny. Is that because I am also a woman! At this stage I was fact finding about the vans available, the spec and the price range so a journey to Sutton didn't seem necessary.Quite a dated way of working when many Van companies engage with you by telephone , obtaining all the details and put together a professional quote. Purchased from Wilsons twice before, but won't again, and I'm now in the process of buying and having my delivery of the same Van , cheaper and through a more current company.

Most of the stock they advertise on the Auto Trader are not actually in stock. There are other reviews that warn you of this. The one suitable van they have in stock and the communication is terrible. I want to buy a new van and not have to beg for it.

Discovered Wilsons Van Centre online, offering a great deal on the specific van I was looking for. Being the far south side of London to me, I never actually went in to see them, the whole transaction and all communication taking place via email. Dealt with Stephen throughout the whole process who was fantastic. Explained everything clearly, walked me through the process and kept me informed from day one. Very professional, excellent communication and outstanding customer service. Ply-lining was also arranged for me, prior to delivery. Due to the fact I had Stephen arrange delivery of the vehicle to my home, my only regret is I never met him to shake his hand. Based on this experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wilsons to anyone else considering buying a van. They will definitely be the first place I look next time.
