We went down past the museum to one of the extra car parks, there's lots of space here. Once we parked up we went down a grassy path to a road which opened to a stunning view of the lighthouse, footpaths either side of the small valley behind it, and another walkway around the side. It carries on back and you can walk along the front on a coastal but rugged footpath to the museum on the left or the right continues for two miles coastal to the dancing ledge. Stunning views, reminds me of Cornwall near Zenna (real back road Cornwall with the sharp cliff edges). We walked a good mile with a toddler and four year old and they both were fine, although some of the coastal walk areas are a little steep and accessibility issues would be likely for most of you carry on to the lighthouse itself.

Fantastic views! Great place to spend time. Lots of space and well maintained trails. A fab place to follow nature trails and spot local wildlife. The volunteers and workers here do a great job at making people feel welcome. Has a decent cafe with indoor / outdoor seating. Also picnic benches provided outside. Durlston is lucky to have a great ranger who keeps us all updated online with interesting topics and news. The building has undergone impressive rebuilding and hosts various events all year round. It is disabled accessible and has track and trace in place. The only minor irritation is that the parking charges 2 for one hour minimum which adds up for locals like myself who want to stop by for a quick dog walk a few times a week. That said I can highly recommend a visit.

A beautiful place manicured around the edges. Some good walks, some of which were ok for wheelchair users, though paths are sometimes steep and/or cambered. Beautiful views of a wild bit of coast. Adequate car park on hard standing. Can drive down and drop of visitors at the visitor centre. Friendly and helpful staff, small shop and cafe. Enjoyed a good cuppa and cream tea.
