We got permission to convert an old barn into a dwelling under Class Q permitted development. Following a recommendation from elsewhere, we asked Roger to design the plans for us and he has been instrumental in turning our dream into a reality. We’ve been really impressed by his enthusiasm and willingness to think outside the box to keep the design within our budget. Class Q conversions are difficult because of the restrictions in which building operations are allowed, but Roger has designed a scheme to allow us to incorporate the existing building and create a modern, exciting, light filled space for our family. He is full of ideas but listens to what we say and is happy to make changes where we’ve needed them. He’s kept us updated at every stage, and has been happy to work with our own contractors and consultants or recommend others he’s worked with if we prefer. I was also pleasantly surprised by his fee structure, which was laid out clearly at the start and he has been happy to advise where we could do things ourselves to save money. The whole process could be quite overwhelming with so many decisions to make but he has guided us through each stage and is always happy to talk or answer questions. I’ve been really impressed and would be happy to recommend OffGrid to anybody considering a self-build or extension.

My husband and I wished to extend our house in Devon and on recommendations called in Offgrid Architecture who came to assess the project we wanted and consulting with our builder drew up plans to fit our budget. Offgrid were very helpful making suggestions as to how we could achieve the extension as other alterations had to be made to our home to accommodate this. Offgrid saw the project through planning, consultations with our builders and on site visits. We are very pleased with the difference the extension has made to our living space and would fully recommend Offgrid Architecture to anyone needing either alterations, new builds or extensions.
