I’m writing this review to encourage other independent artists to do their homework thoroughly on a PR company before agreeing to use them. I approached this company solely for the purpose of having my latest song ‘My Rescuer’ (and music video) presented to Songs of Praise, as they have entree to the producers. Lisa came back to me saying that I would have to pay a full 2 month PR fee for this, in which she would plug the song to other radio and TV slots as well. It was a lot of money for me, and as I have previously managed to get radio play on Radio 2 without paying PR companies for it, I wasn’t too happy with the idea. However, I was keen to get presented to Songs of Praise, and so agreed to the 2 month contract. After paying her, she came back pretty quickly saying that the bookings for the year for Songs of Praise had closed, and they would only be rebooking in the new year - by which time my contract with her would have ended. Surely this is something she would have found out before taking my money?? I ended up paying Lisa Davies nearly 2500 in total. What did I get for my money? One play/interview on Radio Guernsey and an interview on an internet radio station that I could have secured myself. Even the press release they wrote was lifted entirely from a review I had put on my website. My experience with this company was that it was a complete waste of time and money for me, and not something I could ever recommend.
