Lovely country pub with open fire and good quality food. Worked up an appetite beforehand with a circular 3 mile walk.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY! Do not bother going for 'dog friendly', this is false advertising. Dogs are not allowed inside the premises, and the outdoor facilities for dining are poor. Drove over an hour to be told we were welcome to eat outside only, despite heavy rain and wind. Very disappointing and the staff did not make this clear when booking. The owner is happy to have his dog inside and around customers, but other dogs are most certainly not welcome. You would not advertise a restaurant as 'child/family friendly' if they were only welcome to eat outdoors at all times. Avoid and find a better establishment.

It’s a little out of the way but well worth the trip. The staff are more than friendly. A cosy little place with great fresh food and drink. theres also a couple of little walks around they promote with free printed maps inside. They might help build up you justify that desert menu
