The blacksmiths cottage naburn

Nice place. In the pub car park next door to a small art shop called wychwood, selling pieces made from felt, the lady that runs it is only there on Sundays and shuts at five. The cottage itself is compact and quaint but has everything you need. Bread, eggs, milk, butter, tea, coffee and sugar are provided. Microwave, fridge, kettle, oven with hob etc. Usable kitchen. Has an ironing board and iron too. Shower and toilet next to kitchen. Living room has TV with DVD player and a few dvds, digital radio and has an excellent games set in a wooden box. A few maintenance issues like a couple of lights not working, but wasn't a major problem. Bed is up a small staircase on a mezzanine. Bed is comfy, would prefer harder mattress perhaps. Bed cannot be moved and one side is under the slope of roof so mind your head. Could perhaps do with small bedside tables to put glasses on for those of us with bad eyesight, again nothing major. If the pub is open you may hear noise from beer garden, but only up to a certain time as being in a residential area they limit the time the beer garden is in use. The landlord and staff there are friendly and the food and drinks there are fine. There are no shops in naburn itself apart from a quaint post office. There are no buses in naburn on Sunday or bank holidays, so take a walk to naburn lock, very nice there with a small shop there at the campsite. All in all I would happily stay again. Have paid a lot more in the past for other places and got a lot less for it.
