After my husband asking for a recommendation for somewhere to eat nearby to where we were staying and lucky advised to make a reservation - On arrival, we were given a very warm welcome from a gentleman. We were shown to our table. There are several seating areas including area you can have dogs. Great menu and also special board. Lovely atmosphere, service good. Food and drink exquisite. Took loads of photos. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening with husband. Would recommend to book and would definitely visit again. We arrived for 6pm. Place got busy as evening got later.

What a fantastic evening, the isle of wight tomato terrine was fresh and tasty. I had the slow cooked short rib beef which was amazing and the wife had the smoked haddock which was also extremely good. For dessert we went for the blue slipper to share, wow we got a whole cheese which we couldn't finish. Over all a fantastic meal

Absolutely amazing food! We visited The Cottage today and had the outdoor table. The staff were very polite and welcoming. For starters we had fresh crab and smoked salmon salad and smoked beetroot tartare. Both dishes were refreshing, light and served professionally. For the main we had mushroom risotto which was served with fresh mushroom on top. We also had smoked haddock with mash and ball of spinach in a creamy/cheesy sauce. Haddock was fragrant and delicate and we liked how it went along with spinach (I think it was steamed) and the mash. All was nicely presented on the plates. The food was served fast and we didn't have to wait long to be served. Bravo for the chef. Bravo for the waiters.

14/3 ..My wife and I have just had one of the best meal's out in a very long time. From the moment we walked in nothing was too much trouble.Food was to die for and the braised feather blade of beef with puff pastry was better and tastier than anything that I have tried in the past (Last one that was similar was done by a Michelin Star Chef). This is a little gem and if your in the area try and book a table because it was packed and you wont be disappointed.
