A great place to enjoy a nice drink in a chilled safe area. Nice food. Dog friendly. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Thanks everyone. Fantastic atmosphere.

Had our tea out on Saturday, food in the freshfield is really good. Beer was nice, although a sad sign of the times when the specials board is empty. Staff were really nice, very helpful, couldn't do enough for you. We'll be going again, hopefully over Christmas.
Need to be clearer on protocols for non locals (table service has to be better) but the staff are great, really friendly and the food is great for groups. Best thing is the selection of ales they have. Great place, really recommend
Average pub food sadly nothing to shout about. Would visit again for a quick drink but don't bother with the food. Staff nice and pleasant. Needs a good clean!
Lovely atmosphere, the menu was good, but as a vegetarian my options were a bit limited. However, I had a cheese toastie and it was the best I have ever had so definitely worth a visit!
Booked this cos of Pub safe policy reviews On arriving we picked up disposable menu.It had 7 mains burger menu other but my sister chose Lasagne which was 1 of the 7 mains to be told not available as was 1/2 chicken.I chose large fish chips that had beer battered cod scampi.Scampi was small portion.Fish chips were lovely but should have had bread butter.Came with dry bread.Asked for butter to b told they had none.This was 12 midday!My daughter had sirloin steak said it was lovely but only 2 onion rings did hav liked4.Social distancing good.Seemed short staffed.Piudding menu we had to ask choice of 1!!Food good but will not b visiting again
What a brilliant place at the little town of Freshfields and the food and the staff are fantastic and no I do not have shares in this lovely place and I do not work there and this is a good and honest review. This is Mr Fresh in his Field of Asparagus where the name comes from together with me on the photo.
Great real ale. Food was average. Friendly staff. Dog and child friendly.
