I was very very disappointed with the service level and communication. When I was 2 min late one day, I was left waiting in front of the door for 15 min and then refused entry as ‘I’ve missed my appointment’. When I complained I was told an investigation was necessary. For about 4 weeks I kept calling and emailing, being promised every time that someone would be in touch soon. After four weeks I made another call and was THEN told that the clinic in Newcastle closed as the lease ran out and that I’m transferred to the Leeds clinic - well, only a 2 hour drive for a 5 min treatment! I’ve now been told I would get a refund on my remaining treatments which will take up to 6 weeks!!! It’s extremely unprofessional to treat customers like this, to NOT communicate that the clinic closes and to not follow up on a complaint and refusing to reschedule because of an ‘investigation’. I wasn’t as disappointed and felt as neglected when I had a burn as I feel now. I have lost trust completely and can not recommend HMG.

I had been considering having some eyelid surgery for about a year. I booked a consultation which was very simple to do as I received a call back from my email within a couple of hours. Having visited the Newcastle Clinic I received a lovely welcome and sat in a peaceful reception area to complete the necessary paperwork. Laura was the nurse who spoke with me regarding the procedure and she was very down to earth, helpful and explained everything well. I decided to go ahead and received all paperwork to sign as promised. I met the consultant which was reassuring then had a pre op assessment with Jeanie ? sorry if I have that wrong . She was lovely also. I am now a week after the surgery and had my stitches out a day ago, The hospital was fab, even down to the gentleman on reception at 6am. I was first on the theatre list and by 7.30am I had been admitted seen 2 members of the anesthetic team and Dr Sleiter my consultant who had photographed me and drawn all he needed. Surgery was over and the recovery nurse lovely Eric had my full awake feeling great and back on the ward for 8.45am. I had no pain and only slight discomfort . Within 2 hours I was ready for home. If anyone is considering surgery there may be places where it can be done cheaper but I feel the care before during and after the surgery and the quality of surgeon from Harley Medical Group are worth investing that little bit more in yourself.
I absolutely loved my experience at Harley Medical Jesmond! From my consultation through to my operation and even afterwards, I felt like the staff genuinely cared about me and got to know me well. My operation had to be cancelled twice (because I had a high body temperature which indicated an illness like flu etc) and I felt the girls at the clinic really went above and beyond to make sure we got it rescheduled as soon as possible and sympathised with my disappointment. They called me often to keep things on track and to check up on me, so that was great! The nurses and my surgeon were always friendly and welcoming, and I honestly didn't feel like just another statistic; I actually felt like a person who they cared about. I got to know Rachel (clinic manager) the most, as she always took the time to chat to me before and after my appointments, and I felt like she spoke to me on a personal level, not just a professional one. The nurses sent me a 'Get Well Soon' card after my surgery which just goes to show they remember who you are and genuinely care about your wellbeing. Having my surgery was the best decision for myself I have ever made as I now actually feel confident. Plus, even though surgery is quite a big, scary thing, I always felt comfortable and I actually enjoyed the entire experience. I felt relaxed and in safe hands and any questions I had in the very beginning were answered for me immediately, which put me right at ease. I would like to thank all of the staff at The Harley Medical Group Jesmond for your advice, care and consideration and I would highly recommend them to others.
