We've had a few meals from The Old Auctioneer during lockdown, and have never had a bad experience, but they knocked it out of the park on Valentine's Day! Our meal arrived on time and was delicious, with the usual hearty portions (halloumi starter, veggie burger for me and pizza for my husband, and brownie for dessert) - and it also came with a beautiful rose and some very tasty truffles. Ordering is easy, and there's so much choice. Highly recommended.

They seem to be reading their reviews and making changes which is much appreciated! Had plenty of Vegan options the chef could improvise! (read a review from last month saying they had none!). Ordered a bean burger and my gf had nachos with vegan cheese. I highly recommend they add these options to their actual menu!

Sunday's used to be buy one get one free on wings which they extended to take away for a while. Now it's 2 x half portions of wings for 10. This is understandable under current conditions as they have to make up the difference somewhere. However we were disappointed for a second time last night. Ordered 20 of wings and a garlic bread for collection. Upon ordering online was told 30 minutes and when I turned up 30 minutes later I was made to wait in the cold for a further 10 minutes. After collecting my food and taking it home I discovered that 2 or the tubs of wings had very little sauce and 2 had none at all (and let's face it without the sauce they are just over priced deep fried chicken wings). Upon calling to report this issue I was told that all portions leave with the same amount of sauce (clearly not true). In the end was told my order would be replaced and upon having to go out again to return my previous order and collect the new one I found that only the wings had been replaced (all be it with sauce this time), my garlic bread by now was cold and inedible. A loyal customer left wondering if the wings are really worth the hassle.

Really enjoyed my time at this place. My date had one of the giant burgers which he thoroughly enjoyed. I got a taste of it too; the meat was tender and juicy and very flavourful. I had the sizzling fajitas and I was slightly disappointed that there wasnt more than 4 tiny wraps as I seemed to have too much filling not enough tortilla! Aside from that, the chicken was cooked perfectly, slightly charred with a nice seasoning/flavour. Overall a really nice place with a cheery atmosphere, would definitely eat here again.

Impulse decision as we were walking past Mussels and fries, cheesecake and ice-cream. Sadly coffee machine out of beans. First visit here and would recommend it. Staff and service excellence. Social districting adhered to with tables well placed. A few wasps for company but no big deal.
