Took hubby there for Sunday lunch on his birthday. Both the roast beef and the lamb shank were amazing. It all comes with 5 veg as well as roast potatoes and new potatoes. I defy anyone to leave hungry as the portions are very generous. Totally recommend this place.

Nice country pub with beautiful views, staff are really nice, fast service. I had the beer battered cod which was pretty nice. My girlfriend had the surf & turf (She chose better) decent portions and fairly priced. Would recommend.
Just had Sunday lunch at the Penny and it was superb....totally recommend the lamb shank. And the sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever had. The staff are lovely and friendly too. Best pub around the forest. Thank you for a lovely, indulgent Sunday afternoon!
Great food and service. Spent a couple of hours there for evening meals. Great choice from the menu as well as traditional Christmas meals. Looking forward to going back!
From moment I walked in - felt so right & as like was local. Warning - make sure u go with empty stomach as meals are large - get your moneys worth . Only bad point (LOL) You have to leave at some point..
