We booked in for the Midweek Treat, which includes your seat, popcorn and a drink. Great value for money considering the luxury of the venue. It is beautifully styled, very relaxing and a great way to watch a movie. The staff are fantastic and very friendly. We had dinner before the movie in the Grand Cafe, which offers a 10% discount if you have booked cinema ticket, so make sure to pick those up first if you are going in for dinner. Highly recommended for a cinema treat, where you can be pampered while watching a great movie. There is room for improvement, like being able to order hot drinks like tea/coffee as not everyone wants a cold drink and perhaps an extra cushion to support your head while relaxing in the seats (the back of the seats are very sloped). Minor things though, still deserves 5 stars in its current form.

A cheeky little find in the heart of Edinburgh. We absolutely loved our experience of the Picturehouse at The Scotsman and would highly recommend it for a comfy, relaxed night out. The popcorn was really tasty, the film was great and I've never been so comfortable watching a film. We couldn't stop talking about it all week afterwards. Definitely a rare find!
Don't miss this experience while in Edinburgh if you like the proper, dare I say, 1950s cinema experience. Super comfy seating, great food and drink. Just awesome.
I went with a friend. We both loved the decor and relaxing atmosphere. Generous amount of popcorn included in ticket along with wine, beer., or soft drink of choice. I personally loved the little tables between seats because you had somewhere to put your drinks etc. No irritating armrest issues. Screen definition as good as anywhere. Due to size of cinema everyone in the audience was very friendly. Once filming started everyone was able to relax and concentrate on film without distractions. Brilliant amount of leg room, even though I had a stick with me. Only small suggestion I would have liked another small cushion. I don't personally eat popcorn so possibly an alternative of a chocolate would have been nice. Overall the best cinema experience I have had.
A lovely afternoon with friends, afternoon tea and a luxurious relaxing afternoon watching a film. A beautiful cinema - absolutely perfect for an afternoon treat with friends. Staff were helpful and very welcoming - excellent!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of this awesome cinema. The seats were extremely comfortable, with the screen resolution and sound rivaling the larger purpose built complexes. I would much prefer this environment to the national chains. Yes (per another review) - it was a wee bit annoying having a table and lamp between us before the movie, but once it started, it didn't matter. Hardly justifying marking the place down by three stars. Some people will never been satisfied!! We had dinner beforehand which was great and then got a very warm and personal welcome at the picture house. Can highly recommend it. We will definitely go back - several times.
What a gem! We really enjoyed our luxury cinema experience. The host was very hospitable, the drinks were great, I particularly enjoyed the house red wine but forgot to ask what it was. Highly recommend if you want a little getaway from the bustle for a while.
Really enjoyed my visit. Perfect venue, superlative staff and to top it off watching White Christmas. Only request, more cushions in cinema and restaurant for those of us who are vertically challenged. Looking forward to my next visit.
