Don’t trust their online booking system. Showed as having availability, but got a call a couple of hours later saying they were full. Good of them to have the courtesy to call, but means you don’t actually know if you genuinely have a reservation for a few hours after “booking” (nb: this experience included receiving a confirmation email for our booking before it was cancelled)

Food dreadful. 2 steaks, 1 overdone and both tough. Steak and ale pie had very tough meat as well. Very disappointing as we had recommended it to our friends. Very expensive especially when the quality was poor. Staff very friendly and Covid guidelines followed. Not at all busy which is to be expected with the very poor quality of meat. Very disappointing.

Sunday lunch here. Service very slow. Bangers and mash good. Fish and chips poor (fish tasteless, which is not acceptable so close to the coast). Dessert was slow to arrive along with an apology which wasn’t sincere. Overall service was just too excruciating slow for more than a two star experience.

Last minute decision for a late lunch, booking a table was easy via an automated telephone service. Plenty of parking and a nice village pub. Friendly staff and fully COVID compliant. Good choice of starters, mains and deserts, but opted for a pint of Doombar and a huge fish finger sandwich, salad and crisps - delicious on a choice of white tasty fresh bread and to complete the meal a large portion of cheesy chips

Managing the current situation brilliantly. Friendly staff and a great pint of Berries & Cherries Old Mout
