This review is for the pool facilities only, I have not used the gym. It's a nice clean and well maintained place but I cannot help having the feeling that the pool facilities are run mainly for the benefit of clubs and lessons. i.e the pay-on-the-door public are deemed less important, even if you pay up front with a membership or leisure card. The swimming timetable on the website is full of bugs and it is often difficult to get info as to when you can simply go for a swim, or take your family for a swim. For example, I last tried calling at 10am, Sunday 12 Jan to get pool information and it went straight to an automated answerphone informing me that the the leisure centre was closed. I suspect it more likely that no one was available to man the phone or the system was not set correctly. I understand profits have to be made, but it just seems that the focus is somewhat less on actually serving the surrounding community and more on pursuing guaranteed income streams than if it were, say, a purely council or community owned and run facility.

Was told on 5th time attending that my daughter who can swim a little wasnt allowed in deep end wearing her floatation vest with both parents there myself a strong swimmer at almost 4 mile last count. I think lifeguards are sat there bored that they rather do something and ruining childs fun

I’m still waiting to be contacted with regards to my membership cancellation. I had it on good authority (on Friday 4th Oct) the manager would call me today (Monday 7th Oct) and hasn’t. I will be escalating my complaint in writing to the relevant office.

After quite a long time away from the gym. These lovely people welcomed me back like I'd never been away. This leisure centre is so well run and welcoming. Thanks to Duncan and all the team. I know they will help me get back on track.

Very impressed with this facility. Clean, tidy and a nice friendly place to go work out at. Swimming Pool is great, really clean and tidy always well manned when I've been. Only thing stopping a five star is no adult swimming classes - at this time. Hopefully something will be introduced soon?

I use the gym here regularly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The machines are all modern and easy to use, and the room is well ventilated and kept at a pleasant temperature. Both the gym and the changing room are kept very clean and well lit. The wifi doesn't work for me, nor could I get any signal, so if you want to listen to music while exercising you will have to download it onto your device rather than stream it, though this is a minor complaint. The gym is also a bit on the small side with a small number of machines, so if it's busy lots of equipment may be in use, but this has never been a major problem for me. Would definitely recommend for the gym.
