Requested survey for damp patches in bedrooms adjacent to chimney breasts and small damp patch in living room. Survey of house very comprehensive and informative. Identified primary causes of damp due to lack of ventilation internally and condensation build up impacting on plaster. Advised of appropriate solution and attended to remedial work promptly and professionally. Very happy with service provided and trades people involved.

When dealing with a damp issue in the property I was looking to purchase, I had to quickly find a specialist dealing with damp. As the contract exchange date was approaching quickly, I wanted to find out how serious the problem was before committing to the purchase. When I contacted a surveyor to order a home buyer's survey, he explained that it would be best to contact somebody that specialises in damp issues. Andy Clark, a Senior Surveyor at Timberwise, was recommended to me as a trustworthy professional. Andy was quick to return my phone call and although he was fully booked for the next couple of weeks and was not able to carry out the survey for me, he offered to take a look at the photos of the damp area. Once he reviewed the photos, he called me back and gave me a very clear and thorough explanation of what the issue might be and what might have caused it. As Andy spent a fair amount of time on the phone with me and gave me very good advice and suggestions, I offered to pay for his time, but he did not accept it. It is not very often that you come across a professional that will want to help you, even though you would not be using their paid services, because they are already fully booked. I hope that I will not have any damp issues in the future, but if I do, I will not feel so bad about it, knowing that I can deal with a specialist as honest, helpful, and trustworthy as Andy. Nice pub grub, friendly staff who were good enough to fit us in even though they were fully booked (we've just moved to the area and after a hard day of moving furniture and boxes I think they took pity on us!) had to wait a while for food because they were so busy but it was worth the wait - hearty meal and I can recommend the sticky toffee pud! Recommend booking in advance. There's a small car park and some nice outdoor seats at the front. Interior was traditional, warm and inviting with low lighting and an intimate atmosphere. Dogs are welcome (we don't have dogs but several other people did). Steak night on a Tuesday, quiz night on a Wednesday and fish night on Thursdays. We will definitely be back. :-)
