This fish and chip shop is, allegedly, open until 7 p.m. We went in at about 6 p.m. and there was nothing on offer except for dodgy chips. As a local resident told us-this is good just for the young kids who want chips and gravy and little all else!

Not as good as it used to be. Was a Woodys chip shop and had good portion size and reasonable prices. Since the change to Waldi the quality seems to have dropped a little. Much of the Woodys branding it's still visible on the menus etc.

Standards have dropped since the takeover, food seems to sit in the hot cabinet for hours & beans seemed to be microwaved to order & aren't always cooked properly but I give them 3 out of 5 because the chips are better than woodies

Lovely fish and chips, actually superior to the Magpie at Whitby. They use tallow (tastes way nicer too) to cook rather than rancid vegetable oil which damages your arteries. Not a health food by any means but nice as a treat one in a while!

Just about edible take away. Not 1 star as that is for Food poisoning oportunities. Best bits - Gravy, scraps and being told on the second visit the oil had changed. Mediocre - The sausage was the 'bigfoot' and the best real item in there. The poor - Oh dear, the 2 times I have called in (the second was when it's busy about 11:30 AM) so and the chips are hard - not much give and SO seemingly overcooked (but with the right colour) it's unimaginable. On both occasions about 90% or more has been binned - a waste of 3.99 bar from a few chips up-to half the sausage and included can of pop (which is 85 or 89P at menu price).
