What a great day out. Superb little railway. Staff fantastic. Didnt like Walsingham...creepy!
Great to see a light railway still in use. An enjoyable half hour trip through the wonderful countryside. Kept going by enthusiasts so please support them if you can. It's a great alternative to taking the bus!
This is a little disappointing to be honest. The train journey is in a cut out for the majority of the way so not really much to look at. For enthusiasts of steam technology I'm sure that this is a much better experience. If you're going for the thrill of the ride or hoping to see the countryside from a unique perspective then this is one to avoid.
Journey is lovely and staff are friendly. The diesel locomotive wasn't powerful enough to get us up one of the inclines on the day we went so we had a half hour wait by the side of the tracks to repair and get it up the slope before walking up the slope/track ourselves to get back on to complete the journey. These things happen and the staff were helpful but it did slightly detract from the day.
A great stay lovely and spacious bungalow with good facilities and nice veiws.
Great day out. Wells and Walsingham are good start and end points. Walsingham small but a good deli and a couple of good pubs. Abbey is great.
