We’ve used the Purbeck Shooting for several events over the previous couple of years. I’ve had several small group lessons which have worked on the basics including stance basic gun skills. They offer great days out and charitable events or shoot days. The instructors are well educated and can take a session at your pace either offering a lot of instruction to improve core skills or can let you ‘have a go’ in a safe and controlled manner with pointers. If you’re looking for a gun school locally for a lesson with a partner, day out with friends etc I would recommend using Purbeck shooting School over some of the other local ones. The on-site cafe is simple but nice severing hot food and drinks which you can sit and drink by the pond area. I will continue returning for many more years to come.

Camping near to the shooting school and went with a group of two adults and two children. One adult and both children had not shot before. Ashley the instructor was great. He made everyone feel comfortable and had the children hitting clays from the first. He provided advice tailored to each individual to ensure they built on their experience with each shot. I had shot before and he made me progress to off the shoulder stance as well as enabling me to hit my first double clay with one shot! Great feeling and a great holiday memory. If we are in Dorset again I will definitely revisit. We visited the Cafe on site for lunch afterwards. Lovely food and a great end to the visit.

Just enjoyed a second annual visit with a group of friends. I really like Purbeck as not only is it located in an area of oustanding natural beauty, the staggering choice of targets make this our 'go to' shooting ground and well worth the journey from London. Possibly the best venue in the country for our band of combined game and clay guns. Highly Recommended! Top Tip... Take plenty of cartridges and hire a Golf Buggy! BTW, The Bridge Hotel at Ferndown is a great base for a Shooting Break, they are gun friendly very helpful and the rooms are clean and well presented.

I would say this place is average at best, the girls on the front desk a very polite and helpful, food in the cafe is ok but pricey, and the owner is quite possibly one of the rudest and most arrogant people I have had the misfortune of coming across. We were a group of three adults and a seven year old on one of the traps when he and two of his cronies came along and basically tried to hoard us out of the way, because he didn't want to wait like a normal civilised person would and we \obviously didn't know who he was\ There are far better shoots than this place and I personally will never go back again!
