Standard practice seems to be offering a good price for the car online and then just inventing body panel damage when the vehicle is brought in for sale in order to maximise profit. The sales assistant wrote down 500 of body damage to two panels on his report without mentioning it to me, but when I saw and questioned this we went out to the car and he wasn't able to actually point out any damage. We then started crawling around the car on hands and knees looking under the front bumper to find a 2cm hairline scratch to justify what he'd initially written. I had to take the price offered despite disagreeing with it as I'm leaving the country soon, but wouldn't recommend this to anyone else. Selling cars privately is a pain but if you've got the time, go that way.

I was prepared to be waiting for hours, phone calls and discussions ..etc since it was my experience at a different branch about 2 years ago. to my shock and surprise the process was excellent. The guy (younger than last bad experience) checked the car, filled the form, got a valuation in under 10 minutes. I agreed to it, payed what was left of the finance and got the money in my account next day (at a fee) but free if you can wait few days. Honestly it was a pleasure to deal with them and thanks to the guy (sorry, forgot the name) at my local Morrisons fishponds Bristol for being so efficient and nice.
