We approached Mick to help us with a ground floor extension and reconfiguration of the existing rooms. We liked him right from the off. He properly listened to us and what we wanted to get out of the project, and challenged our ideas of what were possible - not only creating the open plan space that we craved, but also managing to fit in a little utility room and shower room where we least expected it. He also dealt with the planning application, advised on a delicate boundary issue and recommended our builder, with whom he liaised throughout the build. A year on, we still can't get over the difference he's made to the house. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for similar projects.

Mick Baird was my architect for the full redesign and renovation I did on my house in Archway, North London, back in 2015. I chose Mick from 3 different architects and it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Mick was really easy to get on with and helped me explain my vision for my project whilst providing different ideas and suggestions. He made it very easy for me to ask any questions, no matter how stupid they seemed to me. He guided me through every step of the way in the 6 month planning stages. Then he worked brilliantly with my contractor during the 6 month build period. My project finished on time and in budget which was is in part due to Mick’s thorough and detailed planning which he communicated to me every step of the way. Most importantly is that I thoroughly enjoyed working with Mick and he made the whole potentially stressful process one I remember very positively. Mick and his team designed our ground floor kitchen, diner extension. We hadn't been through anything like this before so we didn't know what to expect, but Mick explained the whole process to us and put us at ease. He produced the designs, obtained the planning permission, arranged the structural drawings for us with another company and put us in touch with a private Building Regs company. Our plans were very detailed and thorough which was important to us because we were removing a number of external and internal walls and the steel work was extensive. We didn't have to leave any decisions to our builder which he appreciated, right down to the number of spot lights we needed. Our builder had worked with Mick's plans before and he said they were fantastic because they were so detailed - apparently this is quite rare. I commented that Mick's team was the BMW of architects! We definitely saved money on the build because of the quality and detail of Mick's plans and we are very happy with our 'zoned' kitchen, dining and lounge areas. I would not hesitate to recommend Mick to anyone.

Mick provided us with the plans for extending our house. He was a very nice person to deal with and understood our requirements immediately. The plans were of a very high standard and impressed the builders that used them. He was very knowledgable about the various aspects of the build and offered excellent advice upon how to deal with neighbours and party wall agreements. I have happily recommended Dacegrade Ltd to friends and would continue to do so.

We used Dacegrade for the redesign of a typical but tired 2-bed, 1-bath West London house with bulging walls and wonky floors and no space (architectural plans/getting those through planning/hand holding on the build etc). Into a 5-bed (one used as a study), 2-bath plus understairs toilet, and side-return kitchen/diner. We're so pleased with the results - the rooms flow beautifully and extra space seems to have been conjured from nowhere. Would use Mick start to finish if we had to do it all again.
