The owner, Andrew, has appalling communication skills. He's refused to refund our deposit even though the house has been re-let for our week which goes against his terms of booking. I will not be booking through an individual again and will stick with reputable cottage companies in the future.

The house at the end of the World. A simply stunning location to 'step off the world' for 72 hours. Beautifully appointed & fully equipped, cosy, private bolthole to escape the world; while enjoying excellent connectivity should you need it (but, trust me, we didn't). Brilliant kitchen & living area, two fantastic bedrooms, two great bathrooms and that's before you get to the greatest 'back garden' in the world...500 yards downhill to 50 glorious miles of Chesil Beach. Add to that Lyme Regis, Abbotsbury, Bridport, West Bay & Charmouth all within a 30 minute drive away; there is no better antidote to the pressures of daily commute. In fact such are the restorative powers of the Short House that I may champion it receiving recognised status as a medically endorsed stress relief. Andrew, Julie - thanks for being such wonderful hosts; we will be back 'at the end of the world' as soon as humanly possible.
Wonderful stay in February. The location is perfect - a quiet, beautiful location overlooking the sea and glorious sunsets. Everything you need in the Short House and great restaurant recommendations from lovely hosts Andrew and Julie. Easy to walk to the beach with our dog Max (who also made a new best friend in Sonny the schnauzer). The Modbury farm shop was amazing, local produce and what a surprise you’ll get when you visit. We will be back to stargaze again soon. Gill, Graham and, of course, Max the wheaten.
We had the most lovely stay at short house in January 2019. The cottage is in a fantastic location, just a short walk to Chessil beach. The facilities are great, comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return to this gorgeous dog friendly holiday home. Such a wonderful cottage, great location, stunning views and beach walks. My wife and I, and our dog Tommy, enjoyed it so much we are booking for next year. Andrew & Julie are really nice; they live next door but gave us complete privacy. The place is sparkling clean and has everything we could have needed. Beds were so comfy, great sleep. Wonderfull to walk the dog down to the beach each day. Looking forward to coming back.
