On behalf of Lyng Community Association I must point out that the Association does not have any control over the public highways, rubbish collection or street parking - all of these services are managed by Sandwell Council. The Council's planning and parking policy is to allow only one vehicle per household and to refuse applications for a parking permit for a second vehicle even though there are empty resident bays. We do appreciate that the handful of streets without a permit restriction then fill up with second vehicles and of course all day parking by the staff from the medical centre and central police station. We have been pressing for more parking on the estate for over 10 years but the Council policy has remained unchanged. With regard to crime, West Midlands Police patrol the estate on a regular basis and we work together on reported crimes including joint visits and estate patrols. The crime statistics from the Police don't indicate a high crime level but we do inspect the estate at night as part of our maintenance responsibilities checking for defective lights across 40 locations on the estate and rarely witness any suspicious behaviour. We run a programme of community activities including Junior and Youth Clubs to deter anti-social behaviour from children and young people and in the past year have taken young people to outward bound activities, West End shows, the Space Centre, Science Fairs etc and involve young residents in estate wide litter picks to provide a positive attitude to their home community. We appreciate that the community may want to have opportunities to speak to the managers of each service so we organise a public meeting on the estate with representatives from the Council, the Police and ourselves each September and almost 500 homes on the Lyng receive a hand delivered invite so such questions could be put to each authority.

Stuart is very unreasonable and rude to customers. I am unsure why the management has been given to them simply a waste of money. Will be reporting him to Barrat Homes he should simply be removed

I agree, staff in the office not very helpful. Always give unreasonable answers and excuses. They are unable to solve problems such as non residential parking ( people work in lyng medical centre or shoppers).have got no plan or startergy to over come with unsocial behaviour, burglary or vehicle related theft within the lyng.

Lyng Community Association: is on. Moor St West Bromwich B70 almost opposite side of West Bromwich Leisure Centre. Its part of the New Lyng Development in West Bromwich B70. Inside the staff are friendly. The Association looks after the Housing needs of the area. Speaking from Experience as I used to live on Bromford Lane - the whole New Development has uplifted the face of this location and transformed it into a Very Beautiful, clean, looked after, very well maintained and a WELCOMING PLACE TODAY. The Credit goes to the Sandwell Council as every penny spent has benefitted the Community at large. WELLDONE!
